Lauren Valley (aka Junie Grey) is a musician and robotics artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. Valley uses music, special effects, and mechatronic sculpture as tools to create surreal music videos and episodic content centered around creative technology.
Utilizing public platforms such as Youtube and Instagram, Valley hopes to inspire creative inquiry across disciplines and to deconstruct the idea of “gatekeeping” when it comes to art and technology.
Valley was a 2018-2019 National Endowment for the Arts “Digital Art Fellow” at AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island. She completed a residency at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) in 2016, and at ACRE, in 2017. Her work has been exhibited internationally.
Valley currently sings in the band Junie & TheHutFriends.
